Young Designer Spotlight: Michal Mrzyglod
This month our focus is on London based menswear designer Michal Mrzyglod. Hailing from Poland Michal views fashion as a language, a tool that can be used to express any complex concept and work as a sublime narrative. This philosophy is evident in his colourful and carefully detailed pieces.
His latest collection titled “Chin-suru,” which means ‘microwave’ in Japanese slang has already gained the attention of the fashion community and has won him an award at Poland’s prestigious -“Gold Thread Awards”-.
It’s clear that the collection draws inspiration from Japanese culture but yet still infuses European and American culture into the collection as well. Silk satin and organza mixed with palm tree inspired prints create a delicate multi-dimensional contrast that in a way all complement each other.
The colour palate boasts rich and vibrant textures that have you dreaming of a warm summer’s day on the beach in the 70’s.
